Good to know

The Income Tax Act, 2025 takes effect on 1 April 2026.

It replaces the 1961 Act and introduces a single "tax year" in place of the earlier "previous year" and "assessment year". Notices and assessments for years before this continue under the 1961 Act, so the sections above still apply to most live matters. We work across both the old and the new law.

Common questions

Income Tax notices, explained.

Not always. A 143(1) intimation often just flags a mismatch between your return and the department's records. We review it, confirm whether any tax is actually due, and file a rectification if the department has it wrong.
A Section 148 notice reopens a past assessment, so it should be taken seriously and answered carefully within the deadline. Our team builds an evidence-backed reply and represents you through the reassessment.
Deadlines vary by section and are stated in the notice itself. When you upload it, we tell you the exact date and how much time you have, and we work backwards from there.
Yes. Our advocates draft the appeal and represent you through the hearings before both the Commissioner (Appeals) and the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal.
You can, but it is risky. The faceless system decides your case almost entirely on your first written reply, and a wrong section, a missed piece of evidence or a rushed admission is very hard to undo afterwards. Most people send us the notice first so a specialist can check it before anything is filed. That costs nothing and keeps your options open.
The deadline keeps running, interest and penalties build, and the department can decide against you without your side of the story, which can escalate into a demand, a penalty or a reopening of earlier years. If your deadline is close or has already passed, upload the notice now and we will tell you the best remaining option.

  • Form 26AS and your AIS / TIS for that year
